Abstract
752,865. Lubricating. ALBERT, H. July 19, 1954, No. 20955/54. Class 12 (3). A lubricating device for Bowden cables comprises a funnel-shaped socket 4, Fig. 1, screwed on to the end of the spring-loaded pump tube 2 of a grease gun, the socket being screw-threaded to receive a cap 10 by means of which a longitudinally-split conical plug 7 of elastic material, which receives the end of the Bowden cable, is drawn into the socket. The plug 7 has a skirt 11 which is clamped between the socket 4 and a conical portion of the cap 10. The bore of the plug 7 is stepped to accommodate different diameters of cable sheathing. The plug 7 may be conical at both ends as shown in Fig. 3, the cap 10 having a collar 101 with a conical bore. The plug is provided with longitudinal grooves 13.
