[Class 8 (ii)] [Also in Groups XII and XXVII] In a device for filtering and moistening the air supplied to a carburetter, the air is drawn through a filter X and passes down a porous, venturi-shaped member 10 forming the inner wall of a reservoir 12. The filter, which may consist of material such as copper filings, glass wool or the like, is supported in a perforated casing held on to the reservoir by clips 22. The reservoir, made wholly or partly of a porous material, has a float 16 indicating the level of liquid. In a modification, the reservoir has an outer case of metal or-plastic material and the porous material is restricted to the inner wall forming the member 10. The filter is placed in an annular space between two cylinders of foraminous material arranged at the top of member 10.
