[Class 99 (i)] In a ball-and-socket joint one of the coupling members comprises a ball 2 and a concentric spherical socket 4, the other coupling member 1 lying between and engaging the spherical surfaces 2, 4. The coupling member 2, 4 has a tubular part 11 slidable within a sleeve 5 against the action of springs 9. The parts 1, 2 are sealed by packing 6.
