Abstract

Sheets of, or textile fabric coated with a vinyl chloride polymer or copolymer are subjected to pressure in a heated embossing press provided with a plane highly polished plate working at a temperature of at least 170 DEG F. with an appropriately short dwell, a sheet of regenerated cellulose being interposed between the plate and the sheet or coated fabric. A cotton fabric coated with a composition of polyvinyl chloride, tricresyl phosphate and iron oxide is treated in the above manner. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 611,317, [Group VIII].
