[Class 138(ii)] A trouser press or the like comprising two flat side members clamped together by thumb-screws or other pressure members has an insulated low-temperature heating-element disposed in a recess in one or both side members, a sheet of metal being interposed between the heating-element and a layer of absorbent material constituting the pressing surface. If desired, the heating-element may be disposed between sheets of insulating material such as abestos, and the absorbent material of the pressing surface may be felt or flannel
