Abstract

1,208,991. Trouser and like presses. J. NIEHENKE [trading as SINRAM & WENDT]. 13 Feb., 1968 [16 March, 1967], No. 7156/68. Heading D1A. At least one press member of a garment press comprises two layers 8, 9 of wood or the like enclosing an electric heater 7 and bonded together by synthetic resin. Plate 6 formed by layers 8, 9 is secured to a plate 4 hinged to a plate 2 mounted on a suit stand 1. The heating plate may have a groove to receive the trouser seams, the base plate being flat. In a trouser stretching device 12, Fig. 4, the trousers are held by their turn-ups and boards 16, 17 are flapped over the legs leaving the seams free. Each board comprises parts 20, 21 hinged together and a plate 23 of laminated pressed material in which a heating element is moulded is secured at least to part 21. The heating plates can be used without a supporting plate.
