666,867. Compound sheet materials. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Aug. 25, 1948 [Aug. 27, 1947], No. 22422/48. Drawings to Specification. Class 140. Insulating plates are made by heating under pressure sheets of mica flakes coated and loosely bonded with a resinous adhesive, the sheets being interposed between pressure equalizing separator sheets consisting substantially of polymerized tetrafluoroethylene in a solid but deformable state, the resinous adhesive being chemically different from the separator sheet. The heating may be carried out in a press with heated platens, thin steel sheets being located on each side of the pile of separator sheets and bonded mica flakes. Temperatures of from 200‹ to 300‹ C. may be used.
