Abstract

573,021. Electric induction heating. JABLONSKY, B. July 24, 1942, No. 10343. [Class 39 (iii)] [Also in Group V] Articles are heated under pressure in a high frequency electric field between tools of electrically non-conducting material, the electrodes being thin metal layers between the articles and the pressing tools. The press tools may be of wood veneers, textile fabrics. paper, or pulp, with a binder of phenol formaldehyde resin, "Jabroc," or "Tufnol" (Registered Trade Marks), or of a glass and mica composition, or a mineral cement or concrete, which may be reinforced. Metal sheets 3, 4 are arranged between dies 1, 2 and an article such as an airscrew blade. Connecting lugs 7-12 may be provided at separated points. The sheets 3, 4 may be recovered and used again, or they may adhere to the article to form a protective cover. The metal sheets may be secured to the dies, or they may be deposited on them by spraying or electrolysis. The press tools may be flat, or may be profile die or rollers. which may be corrugated. In Fig. 2, concrete rollers 13, 14 may be sprayed with metal 15, 16, which is connected to the current supply by brushes 18, 19.
