Abstract

1,079,431. Laundry presses. R. P. GUDGEON. Jan. 4, 1966 [Jan. 5, 1965], No. 364/65. Heading D1A. A laundry press has a table I rotatable on a horizontal shaft 2 to present first one and then the other of its surfaces to a pressing platen 14 actuated by hydraulic or pneumatic pressure in cylinder 13. Articles to be pressed or processed are placed on the upper surface and held thereto by a sheet or plate 6 or 9 whilst an article on the lower surface is being pressed. The table is rotated by a handwheel 4 or this may be done hydraulically or pneumatically. The surfaces of the table and the platen 14 may be heated and holes 19 may be provided for ejecting steam or vapour therefrom. These holes also serve for providing a suction on the surfaces by means of a vacuum pump, more than two operating surfaces may be provided on the table.
