1303472 Ironing presses: pressing fabrics; finishing fabrics BENTLEY MACHINE DEVELOPMENT CO Ltd 25 Aug 1971 [26 Aug 1970] 41004/70 Headings D1A D1L and D1S In a pressing or processing machine comprising a pair of members between which a textile article is pressed or processed, at least one of the members comprises sintered metal, means being provided to pass a treatment fluid through the interstices of the sintered metal. As shown an upper sintered metal plate 1 supported by a reticulated frame 2, 3 having a heating element 11 and mounted within a housing 4 with a depending skirt 5 co-operates with a second sintered plate 1a to press or process an article mounted on a frame or a bag 10. The latter may be non-porous, or porous when means are provided for supplying it with fluid under pressure. The housing 4 of one or both of the plates 1, 1a may be connected to a source of steam, hot air and/or ammonia or vacuum for assisting processing or pressing of an article.
