Abstract

602,171. Lamp lenses. RALEIGH CYCLE CO., Ltd., and BROWN, W. Jan. 26, 1945, No. 2103. [Class 75(ii)] A lamp glass suitable for vehicle lamps has its upper part formed as a semicircular positive lens to give a long distance flat-topped beam and the lower part of negative lens construction to give foreground illumination. The upper part A may consist of a plano convex lens and the lower part B of concavo-convex form. The rear face of the lens may be stepped. The lower part B may be formed with vertical lenticular ribs for increasing the lateral light dispersion. The parts of the lens may be integral or separate.
