Classes 75(2) and 75(4) A vehicle headlight comprises a concave reflector 1 at the rear of a lamp 7, a diffusing disc 8 in front of the lamp having on its rear face horizontal cylindrical contiguous converging lenses 2 and a set of vanes 4 spaced the widths of the lenses and disposed parallel to the lenses with their front edges adjacent thereto and their rear edges coinciding with the focal plane thereof. The widths of the lenses may be different. The optical axis of a lens need not be parallel to the axis of the headlight. The vanes are inclined downwardly from their rear edges. The front face of the diffusing disc 8 is provided with contiguous vertical cylindrical lenses 3 which may be convex or concave or alternating convex and concave.
