Abstract
601,837. Optical objectives. TAYLOR, TAYLOR, & HOBSON, Ltd., and COX, A. Oct. 5, 1945, No. 25937. [Class 97 (i)] In an objective consisting, as shown, of a simple biconcave component between two convergent doublets, the biconvex element of each doublet is of material having a refractive index not less than 1.65 and at least 0.06 greater than that of the material of the divergent element of the doublet. The radius of curvature of each contact surface lies between 0.55 F. and 1.20 F., where F is the focal length of the objective, while the rear surface of the middle component has a radius of curvature between 0.4 F. and 0.6 F. The Specification includes optical data for three examples.
