Abstract

609,407. Lenses. TAYLOR, TAYLOR, & HOBSON, Ltd., and COX, A. March 13, 1946, No. 7830. [Class 97 (i)] A corrected objective comprises a simple divergent member placed between a rear convergent doublet having a biconvex element connected to a meniscus divergent element of lower refractive index and having an AbbÚ V value at least 10 higher than the biconvex element, and a front convergent member consisting of a simple convergent component spaced in front of a compound convergent component. The objective has the characteristics of a telephoto objective. Data are given for the example shown in which the front compound component is a doublet and the divergent member is a meniscus convex to the front.
