Abstract
609,408. Lenses. TAYLOR, TAYLOR, & HOBSON, Ltd., and COX, A. March 13, 1946, No. 7831. [Class 97 (i)] A corrected objective comprises a front convergent member consisting of a convergent doublet in front of and slightly separated from a simple convergent component whose rear surface is separated from the front surface of a central simple divergent member by between .09 and .15 times the equivalent focal length of the objective, and a rear convergent doublet separated from the central member by not less than half and not more than twice the distance between that member and the front doublet, the rear doublet consisting of a convergent element and a divergent element having an AbbÚ V number at least 10 higher than the convergent element. The objective acts as a telephoto objective. The contact surfaces of the doublets may be cemented or slightly separated. Data for two examples of an objective of the type shown are given and for one example in which the rear doublet is reversed.
