Abstract

583,984. Photographic lenses. SCOPHONY, Ltd., and LEE, H. W. Sept. 8, 1944, No. 17176. [Class 97 (i)] In a lens of the type comprising a simple dispersive double - concave component 2 between two collective components of which that facing the front is simple and the other comprises a dispersive element 3 cemented to a collective element 4, the component 1 or the collective element 4 or both are of vitreous or crystalline material having a mean refractive index greater than 1.70 and the component 2 has a refractive index greater than 1.63. The component 1 is meniscus, the power of its shallower side being not less than 10 per cent of that of the complete lens. Specifications 462,304 and 534,680, [both in Group XXIII], are referred to. Data are given.
