Abstract

629,167. Photographic objectives. KERN & CO., Ltd. June 28, 1946, No. 19426. Convention date, June 30, 1945. [Class 97 (i)] An objective corrected spherically, astigmatically and for coma for one or more colours, consists of four air-separated components, of which the second component is divergent and comprises a convergent lens L<SP>2</SP> having a refractive index greater by at least 0.07 and a v-value greater by at least 4.0 than those of the divergent lens L<SP>3</SP> which is cemented thereto. The refractive index of lens L<SP>2</SP> may be at least 1.72. The remaining components L<SP>1</SP>, L<SP>4</SP> and L<SP>5</SP> are convergent and may be simple lenses. One of these components, preferably the rear component, may be a cemented doublet, the front lens of which is convergent and has a greater v-value than that of the divergent lens cemented thereto. Optical data are given.
