577,763. Optical objectives. WRAY (OPTICAL WORKS), Ltd., and WYNNE, C. G. June 8; 1944, No. 11020. Drawings to Specification. [Class 97 (i)] In an objective comprising a front and a back convergent member enclosing two divergent members, the distance measured along the optical axis from the rear surface of the front convergent member to'the front surface of the rear convergent member is less than .09 of the equivalent focal length of the whole lens, which has a relative aperture greater than F/6. The first divergent member is biconcave; the surface nearer the centre of the lens having a radius of curvature half that of the other surface, and the member being formed of highly dispersive material of AbbÚ number less than 45. The members may be simple or compound. Data are given.
