762,591. Optical objectives. WRAY (OPTICAL WORKS), Ltd. Dec.. 14, 1954 [Dec. 18, 1953]; No. 35356/53: Class 97 (1), In an objective consisting of four simple components the two outer components being convergent and having between them a biconcave divergent component to the rear and a meniscus component to the front with its two surfaces concave towards the biconcave component, the radius of curvature of the front surface of the biconcave component is greater than twice but less than three times that of its rear surface, the radius of the concave surface of the meniscus component is less than twice that of its convex surface and the meniscus component of the convergent component adjacent to it are each formed of a meniscus having an AbbÚ V number greater than 55.0. Numerical data are given for one example of the objective shown.
