Abstract
782.213. Optical objectives. ZEISS-STIFTUNG, C. [trading as ZEISS, C. [Firm of]]. April 25. 1955 [May 3, 1954], No. 11823/55. Class 97(1) An apochromatic objective consisting of two convergent lenses enclosing a divergent lens is characterized in that the rear convergent lens is cemented to the divergent lens which is separated from the front convergent lens by an airspace, the rear two lenses being of glass having Abbe numbers less than 35 and relative partial dispersions ng<SP>1</SP>-nc/nF-nc greater than 1.61 and the divergent lens having a refractive index less than that of one of the convergent lenses by less than 0.05 and greater than that of the other convergent lens by 0.1 for the helium d line. Numerical data are given for one example of the objective shown.
