766,975. Photographic objectives. VEB C. ZEISS JENA. March 16, 1955, No. 7668/55. Class 97(1) In an objective of the kind consisting of a front dispersive meniscus component situated at a considerable distance from a collective member consisting of two dispersive meniscus components concave to a diaphragm therebetween and enclosed by a front simple collective component and a rear collective meniscus component, the front dispersive meniscus component is simple and has an Abbe number greater than 55 and less than 65, the front component of the collective member is of flint glass of Abbe number greater than 40 and less than 50, the dispersive meniscus in front of the diaphragm consists of two lenses cemented together and having a difference of refractive index greater than 0 and less than 0.2, the dispersive meniscus following the diaphragm is simple and has a refractive, index greater than 1.7 and the refractive index of each lens of the rearmost component is greater than 1.6 and less than 1.7 Numerical data are given for one example of the objective shown and for one in which the rear most compartmen is a cemented doublet.
