A photographic objective with a relative aperture of at least. 1/3 5 consists of a simple front collective meniscus member with an n d value of at least 1.64 and a front surface radius at least 0.3 times the objective focal length, a simple biconcave member and a collective rear member composed of elements of opposite refractive power and having a collective cemented surface convex to the front the air space between the front and middle members being smaller than that between the middle and rear members. Data are given for two examples for a relative aperture of 1/2.8.
