760,613. Photographic objectives. ZEISSSTIFTUNG. C., [trading as ZEISS C. [Firm of] ]. March 10, 1954 [March 17, 1953], No. 6956/54. Class 97(1) An objective having an overall length greater than 40 per cent of its focal length and consisting of a collective meniscus front component, two dispersive meniscus components concave to a diaphragm between them and each formed of a convergent lens and a divergent lens cemented together the divergent lenses being adjacent the diaphragm and having colour dispersions higher than those of the convergent lenses cemented thereto, and a collective rear component, is characterized in that the mid-thickness of each dispersive component is greater than 4 per cent of the focal length of the objective, the length of the central airspace is greater than the arithmetic mean of the radii of the surfaces bonding it to the refractive index of the divergent lens in the rear dispersion component is greater than that of the divergent lens in the front dispersive component. Numerical data are given for four examples of the objective shown.
