Abstract

597,644. Pressure gauges. SMITH & SONS (NOTTINGHAM), Ltd., S., and WELLER, A. G. Dec. 2, 1944, No. 24110. [Class 106 (ii)] To provide protection against vibration and pulsations in the actuating fluid, gauges for the measurement of pressure, vacuum or temperature are connected to the source by a coiled capillary tube 20. As shown, an edgewise gauge has a part-circular scale 2 over which moves the cranked end 16 of a pointer 1 actuated by a Bourdon tube 13. The scale 2 is adjustably connected by arms 9 to a plate 10 which bears or is integral with a gauge block 11. The arms 9 and a feed pipe 18 are fixed to the casing, but the gauge block 11 is free. A filter may be inserted in the line immediately before the capillary tube.
