5 9 7 , 4 7 5. Turbine power plant. MASCHINENFABRIK OERLIKON. Aug. 21, 1945, No. 21338. Convention date, Oct. 27, 1944. [Class 110 (iii)] In a power plant comprising a steam plant including a steam generator and a furnace and an air turbine plant including an air heater and a separate furnace, in which a part of the air leaving the air turbine is used as combustion air in the furnace of the steam generator, the amount of air leaving the air turbine is greater than the amount of air required for combustion in the furnace of the steam generator. The steam generator 1, supplying steam to a turbine 4, has a grate 3 on which fuel is burnt. The air supplied by a compressor 12 is heated in a heater 9 and then passed through an air turbine 11 driving the compressor 12 and generator 13. The heater 9 is heated by combustion gases from the separate grate 10. The exhaust air from the turbine 11 flows through pipes 14, 14a and 14b to the grates 3 and 10 as air for combustion. Another part of this air may be led through a pipe 14c to a feed water pre-heater 8. The exhaust gases from the steam generator and the air turbine heater may be used to preheat the feed water in pre-heaters 15a and 15b,
