Abstract
591,168. Window &c. frames. WORCESTER WINDSHIELDS & CASEMENTS, Ltd., JONES, A. E. E., and BEDFORD, J. April 30, 1945, No. 10805. [Classes 20 (iii) and 20 (iv)] A window pane or other panel is mounted within an inner frame removably secured within an outer frame by a blade spring catch fixed at one end to one frame and with a ratchet-shaped part snapping into engagement with an aperture or recess in the other, the other end of the catch being depressible by a tool to release the inner frame. A window pane 1 is entirely surrounded by a channelled rubber edging strip 2 fitted with an L-sectioned metal frame 3 which is detachably retained within a fixed outer frame 4 comprising an abutment flange 7 and a transverse portion with a rib 9 forming a seating for frame 3. To the rib are secured at intervals blade springs 11 having a nose 12 adapted to engage an aperture 13 in frame 3 and a nose 16 for engaging either of recesses 17, 18, in the abutment flange 7. When the inner frame is applied to the outer and its rubber edging compressed nose 12 engages aperture 13 and the window is positively held. To release the frame the free end of each spring is depressed as by a screwdriver, nose 16 then being engaged in recess 18 to retain the spring in inoperative position.
