Abstract

901,482. Mounting vehicle windscreens &c. FROW, H. A. Nov. 17, 1958 [Nov. 15, 1957; Nov. 28, 1957], Nos. 46756/61 and 46757/61. Divided out of 901,481. Class 20 (3). A window or vehicle windscreen &c. consisting of a pane 1 of glass &c. provided around its marginal edge with a glazing strip 4 having resilient inner and outer flanges 7, 6 for gripping engagement with the inner and outer faces of the opening surround of a panelling 2, is fitted into the opening by holding the inner flange 7 retracted along its whole length by means of a plurality of rods each shown as a channelmember 8 and presenting the pane to the opening and the retracted flange 7 passed through to enable the other flange 6 to be engaged by the surround, whereupon the tools are released from the flange 7 and removed from the window to permit the flange 7 to return to its initial position and engage the panel 2. Several kinds of tools for the purpose are described and claimed in Specification 901,481 [see Group XXIII].
