Abstract

586,928. Oscillating machines. MAGNAVOX CO. May 31, 1944, No. 10450. Convention date, June 24, 1943. [Class 35] A generator has an armature supported solely by magnetic action in one or the other of two positions, in each of which it engages a pair of pole pieces and generates an impulse in a coil when it is moved rapidly -from one position to the other by a resilient member. In the form shown, the armature 22 alternately bridges pole shoes 14, 16 and 12, 18, whereby its flux is reversed and current generated in the coil 20 held between pole pieces 4 and 6. The member 22 is reciprocated by hand or mechanically through the spring arm 24.
