[Class 35.] A magnetized disc b is pivoted inside a solenoid a of rectangular cross section, the current in the solenoid being controlled by a, switch operated by the disc and the disc returned to its initial position by a spring when the circuit is broken ; the disc is thus given an oscillating motion.
