Abstract
783,267. Oscillating machines. ARON ELECTRICITY METER, Ltd., and RIORDAN, E. J. June 25, 1952 [June 28, 1951], No. 15403/51. Class 35. An oscillating motor has an armature with two sector-shaped arms 3, 4 which, when in the normal position, the poles 5, 5 of the arms 3, 4 abut the stator poles 1, 2, but when the stator coil 10 and the armature coil 9 are energized the stator and armature abutting poles are polarized in the same sense. This causes the armature to start its movement under repulsion, but the final position of its movement is under attraction. The device is fed with impulse current and the armature is returned by a spring. The oscillatory motion of the armature is converted into a step-by-step rotation by a ratchet-and-pawl or similar device.
