Abstract

585,193. Battery lamps. BEAGLEY, G. H. L. Nov. 4, 1944, No. 21654. [Class 39 (ii)] A battery lamp for miners, divers, &c. incorporates in its base cap 1 a switch which is operable manually and by air or water pressure. A screwed ring 12 clamps an insulating disc 6 on to a diaphragm 4 the periphery of which is sealed preferably by brazing to the cap 1. A contact element 8 is pressed outwardly by a spring 9 and secured by nuts 11. A centrally bored boss 13 houses a plunger 14 and a cap 15 screwed on to the boss may move the plunger inwardly to force the diaphragm into contact with contact 8. Air or water pressure acts directly upon the diaphragm through the apertures 16 or 17.
