Abstract

584,122. Pipe couplings. KNIGHT, F. H., and WATTS, R. T. Oct. 11, 1945, No. 26546. [Class 99 (i)] A union for coupling pipes or conduits comprises a pair of sleeves 14, 16 formed from tube stock and a pair of collars 19, 23 attached one to each sleeve, the collar 19 being threaded to receive a coupling nut 31, which is internally flanged to engage the collar 23. The collars may be attached by threading, Fig. 1, or by welding brazing, soldering or other means. In a modification, Fig. 6, the collars are arranged to abut the sleeve ends. The 'collar 19 may be recessed at 22 to receive a sealing ring positioned by a bevel surface 27 on the sleeve 16.
