Abstract

583,211. Generating combustion products under pressure. ANGLO-SAXON PETROLEUM CO., Ltd., LUBBOCK, I., and BATTERSHILL, F. J. Jan. 24, 1940, No. 1480. [Class 51 (i)] Combustion products under pressure for power purposes are generated from liquid or powdered fuel supplied through an atomizer 3 to mix with a limited supply of air from a conduit 2 and swirler 4 in a primary reaction zone 5. The further combustion of the mixture is effected in a zone 7 to which additional air is supplied in the form of a vortex from the conduit 2 through a swirler 6. The stream of combustion products is diluted by additional air supplied through radial tubes 8 and holes 9. Instead of the conduit 2, separate air boxes may supply each section of the generator.
