[Class 123 (iii)] In the water-tube steam boiler described in the parent Specification, the relative quantities of furnace gases passing through the superheater b and its bye-pass passage a respectively is controlled by an assembly of longitudinally abutting sleeves h, the sleeves being slidably mounted one on each tube of a row in the tube bank e. The sleeves may be actuated by a mechanically-operated carrier bar k which extends therethrough from one side of the boiler to the other.
