554,223. Water-tube steam boilers. FOSTER WHEELER, Ltd. Nov. 16, 1942, No. 16180. Convention date, Nov. 25, 1941. Addition to 546,267. [Class 123 (ii)] In a boiler having furnaces 18, 19 on each side of a bank of water tubes 31 in the path of the gases from one of the furnaces 19, and a superheater 52 partly in the other furnace 18 and partly in path of the gases from that furnace, as described in the parent Specification, the furnaces are upwardly fired as by mechanical stokers 26, 24, and the gases are directed downwards from the top of the furnaces through passes 32, 51 before entering the passes containing the water tubes 31 and superheater 52.
