Abstract

577,149. Discharge apparatus. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd. Feb. 22, 1944, No. 3237. Convention date, Nov. 28, 1942. [Class 39 (i)] A discharge tube with a metal envelope having a metal exhaust tube attached thereto, has a wire connected to the electrode assembly and extending into the exhaust tube to which it is electrically connected when the latter is sealed. In the form shown, a wire 6 connected to the electrode assembly 4 projects into the metal exhaust tube 5 attached to the metal envelope 1 and the exhaust tube is squeezed closed on the wire by pressure exerted at 7. The wire 6 and hence the assembly is earthed by connection to an earthed pin 3 in the glass base 2. Specification 561,111, [Group XXII], is referred to.
