566,902. Thermionic valves. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd. July 10, 1943, No. 11206. Convention date, July 11, 1942. [Class 39 (i)] An electron discharge device comprises a thin walled tubular metal envelope 1 having spaced longitudinal ridges 9 therein and an electrode assembly having a mica supporting disc 7 at one end, this disc being of such a diameter that the edges of the ridges become embedded therein when the electrode assembly is pushed into position. The ridges may progressively increase in height along the direction on which the electrode assembly is pushed into position. The disc 7 may be reinforced by a metal plate.
