567,551. Heat treating magnesium alloys. MAGNESIUM ELEKTRON, Ltd., FOX, F. A., and WILKINSON, R. G. June 29, 1943, No. 10544. [Classes 72 and 82 (i)] Wrought articles of magnesium base alloys containing up to 2 per cent of zirconium, preferably 0.4 to 0.9, in the absence of elements which combine with the zirconium to form high melting point compounds when molten, are annealed at 200-240‹ C., preferably at 220- 240‹ C., for ¢-1¢ hours. The alloy contains at least 90 per cent of magnesium and also zinc and/or cadmium. Specification. 511,137 is referred to.
