Abstract

566,029. Reverse gearing. HINDMARCH, T. Feb. 19, 1943, No. 2807. [Class 80 (ii)] Reverse gearing comprises an input shaft b and an output shaft c inclined to one another. Directly meshing gears d<1>, e<1> on the shafts give ahead driving, and gears d, e meshing with an idler gear give reverse driving. The gears e, e<1> are connected with their shaft by pressureoil operated couplings f, f<1>, the coupling f being within the gear e, and the coupling f<1> being aside of the gear e<1>. As shown, the gears e, e<1> are on a short shaft c<1> which is connected to the output shaft c by gears g. Specifications 382,865 and 438,563 are referred to in the Provisional Specification. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 540,718.
