[Class 99 (i)] A coupling member 1 has a conical seat 5 for the flared end of a pipe 9, a sleeve 15 has a flared inner end 18 engaging the flare of the pipe and a slightly tapered outer end 19, and a coupling nut 13 has conical or tapered surfaces 14, 21 corresponding to and engaging with the parts 18, 19 of the sleeve. The sleeve may be slotted at its outer end.
