Abstract

565,347. Pressure gauges. GRANT, C. R. A. Jan. 7, 1943, No. 342. [Class 106 (ii)] A pressure gauge comprises a one-piece cup-shaped casing 1 housing the Bourdon tube 14, the disc 9 and pointer 10 being situated on the outer side of the base of the' casing and covered by a glazed cap 11. The back of the casing is closed by a thin plate 6 held against spaced projections 8 by a screw 7 engaging the base of the casing. Should the Bourdon tube burst, the excess pressure in the casing is relieved by deflection of the plate 6 rather than by fracture of the glass front.
