Abstract
570,597. Pressure gauges. GRANT, C. R. A. Aug. 19, 1943, No. 13547. [Class 106 (ii)] The invention relates to gauges comprising two Bourdon tubes 1, 2, one tube being evacuated, or both tubes being connected to different sources of pressure, the movements of the tubes being combined (e.g. by means shown in Specification 507,666) to operate a pointer indicating an absolute or a differential pressure. According to the invention, one tube 2 is engaged by an adjustable stop 7 at a position intermediate its ends so as to limit the effective length of the tube, while both tubes are connected by a pair of plates 13 adjustable along the length of the tubes so as to vary simultaneously the effective length of both tubes. The stop 7 is U-shaped and is fixed to an adjusting ring 3, having an arcuate slot engaged by a screw 10. Either tube may be replaced by a battery of tubes.
