Abstract
627,591. Pressure gauges. CHERRYBURRELL CORPORATION. Oct. 8, 1946, No. 30030. Convention date, Oct. 8, 1945. [Class 106 (ii)] [Also in Group XX] A housing for the insertion of pressure instru. ments or thermometers into a pipe-line comprises a hollow cross-shaped housing having laterally offset intercommunicating passages. Preferably pairs of passages extend lengthwise through aligned portions of branches of the cross-shaped housing, such pairs of passages being laterally offset in relation to one another. As shown in Fig. 4, the housing 1 has two pairs of aligned branches 2, 3 and 4, 5, the branches 4, 5 being in a plane lower than branches 2, 3 and one branch of each pair is equipped with the pressure instrument or the like extending through the common central zone into the passage formed by the other branch of the pair. Branches 2, 5 are connected to a pipe system by conventional means. The instrument stems 20, 21 each carry a ferrule 19 having on its inner surface an outwardly-bevelled shoulder 22 co-operating with an inwardly-bevelled shoulder 13 on the branches 3, 4, these branches being sealed and the thermometers secured in position by units 14 having inwardly-extending flanges 18.
