589,310. Pressure gauges. GRANT, C. R. A. Jan. 4, 1945, No. 420. [Class 106 (ii)] A pressure or vacuum gauge 1 is provided with a plain hollow shank 2 of circular cross - section, secured in an adaptor 4, by means of a union 10 and washer 3, the washer being disposed around a reduced portion 2a of the shank, providing a shoulder 12 which will, when the gauge is used for indicating pressure, engage the washer and prevent the gauge being blown out of the union 10 when the latter is slackened . for adjustment &c. purposes.
