In a device arranged between a pressure measuring instrument and a substance the pressure of which is to be measured and in which a convex diaphragm having a convexity ratio (the ratio of convexity height to the working area diameter) greater than zero but less than 0À5, is clamped between flanges of casing members 2, 3 and a chamber between the diaphragm and the measuring instrument the diaphragm 1 is clamped in an unstable intermediate position between maximum diaphragm displacement in either direction and the chamber is filled with a separating medium whereby the pressure of the substance to be measured is transmitted to the pressure measuring instrument via the diaphragm and the separating medium.
