Abstract
564,134. Optical objectives. TAYLOR, TAYLOR, & HOBSON, Ltd., and WYNNE, C. G. March 10, 1943, No. 3906. Drawings to Specification. [Class 97 (i)] An objective for copying purposes comprises an even number of components arranged substantially symmetrically about a stop position in respect of geometrical dimensions and mean refractive indices of the materials, but asymmetrically in respect of AbbÚ V numbers and relative partial dispersions. The objective may comprise 4 simple air-spaced components, all of meniscus form with surfaces concave to the stop position, the outer ones being convergent and the inner ones divergent. The two halves may be each approximately achromatic, and the materials may be respectively, in order from the front, barium flint glass, potassium bromide crystal, flint glass, and dense barium crown glass.
