Abstract
564,008. Waterproofing compositions. OKONITE CO. May 18, 1943, No. 7919. Convention date, July 3, 1942. [Class 140] [Also in Group XXXVI] A multi - conductor telephone cable for military purposes &c. is formed of a number of conductors 2 preferably of hard drawn copper stands insulated with paper impregnated with a waterproof agent and fortifiers, such as terpin hydrate and cupric and lead stearates. The conductors 2 are bound with waterproofed paper binding tape 6, and then two layers of paper 8 faced with aluminium are wound upon the tape 6 in such manner that the layers break joint and the metal facings contact. A sheath 12 of rubber-like substance, such as thiokol, is then applied, and the whole' may then be provided with a braid covering 14.
