[Class 36] An electric cable suitable for low tension work is constructed of a centrally disposed conductor 2 covered with wound paper insulation 4, and a bare copper conductor 6 enclosed in a sheath 8 of rubber or rubber-like material such as thiokol. The whole may be enclosed in a metal sheath, or a helically wound paper armouring 10 impregnated with terpin hydrate, or equivalent material to render the armouring impervious to water. Fortifiers such as cuprous stearate, or zinc stearate may be added to the terpin hydrate.
