914,245. Cable sheathing. CENTRAL ELECTRICITY GENERATING BOARD, and GOSLING, C. H. Jan. 31, 1961 [Feb. 29, 1960], No. 7042/60. Drawings to Specification. Class 36. A cable, e.g. oil-filled or gas pressure filled, has a non-corrosive sheathing, the insulated conductor or conductors being surrounded with a nylon sheath itself surrounded by a further sheath of polythene or polyvinyl chloride. The nylon sheath is conveniently applied by extrusion at a temperature of about 200‹ C., the polythene or P.V.C. sheath then being extruded at about 100‹ C. Both sheaths conveniently have a thickness of the order of 0.10 inch. The cable may be screened in known manner if desired.
