Abstract
558,600. Steam separators. SPIRAX MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd., and SMITH, H. A. July 13, 1942, No. 9707. [Class 123 (iii)] Steam entering a chamber 1 through a pipe 2 is directed by an elbow 4 on the end of the pipe in a reverse flow on to an inclined plate 5. Steam leaves the chamber through an outlet 3 and separated water is drained off through an orifice 6. In a modification, the elbow is replaced by a hood-shaped deflector formed integral with an inclined annular plate below the outlet from the hood.
